Mirador 3. Casla

Este mirador estelar se localiza en el municipio de Casla en las faldas de la Sierra de Guadarrama, prácticamente a los pies de Somosierra y por donde discurre la Cañada Real Soriana Occidental, herencia de su pasado trashumante. En todo su entorno encontramos extensos bosques de robles y sabinas, además de un hermoso desfiladero calizo formado por el río Caslilla.

Forma parte de la red de miradores estelares de la provincia de Segovia localizados a lo largo del paso de la Cañada Real, camino que realizaban los ganados trashumantes bajo el mismo cielo nocturno que el actual. Curiosamente, el rey Alfonso X el Sabio, el Rey Astrónomo, fue el fundador de la Red de Cañadas Reales, y acostumbraba a observar el cielo estrellado segoviano.

Segovia Starlight cuenta con varias localizaciones a lo largo de la provincia con cielos nocturnos totalmente estrellados para practicar astroturismo. Está usted en uno de ellos.

Astronomical viewpoint 3. Casla

This astronomical viewpoint is located in the municipality of Casla on the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, practically at the foot of Somosierra and where the Cañada Real Soriana Occidental runs, inheritance of its transhumant past. We find extensive forests of oaks and junipers Throughout in its surroundings, in addition to a beautiful limestone gorge formed by the Caslilla River.

It is part of the network of astronomical viewpoints in the province of Segovia located along the pass of the Cañada Real, a path travelled by transhumant cattle under the same night sky as the present. Curiously, King Alfonso X the Wise, the Astronomer King, was the founder of the Reales Cañadas Network, and used to observe the Segovian starry night sky.
